HMPs Thameside, ISIS and Belmarsh in-reach psychological therapy provision provides rapid and easy access to a range of low and high intensity psychological interventions for differing degrees of mental health need among their prisoner populations.

The service’s operational model comprises a stepped care programme, offering structured and time limited evidence-based interventions to those with common mental health problems. It includes self-help, guided self-help, psychoeducational workshops, short and medium-term group work, and individual psychological therapies.

The service is delivered by psychological therapists, including clinical and forensic psychologists, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists (CBT) therapists and it is supported by star workers, psychology graduate workers and psychiatric/medical colleagues as needed.
